To the Germanist and translator Ransom T. Taylor, who notably translated Thomas Mann’s lecture on NIETZSCHE, *Nietzsche’s Philosophy in the Light of Our Experience*, delivered in English at the Library of Congress on 29 April 1947: *Nietzsche’s Philosophy in the Light of Contemporary Events*. He has just returned from a restorative trip that gave him time to rest and relax. He is now inundated with work to finish and new projects. It is possible that he may soon require Taylor’s translation services once again. He no longer has any copies of the complete works of Nietzsche in English. He has forwarded Taylor’s list of corrections to Horch, the agent in New York, who will pass it on to the editor of Commentary magazine, which plans to publish the text in full…
