Contemporary red morocco with gilt embossing, gilt coat of arms raised in the centre of the covers, spine with gilt fleur-de-lis raised bands, gilt title, gilt edges, gilt scrolls on the edges and endpapers, marbled paper endpapers (a few foxing spots or small, very scattered stains, very slight defects on the edges, spine slightly tarnished).
Bearing the coat of arms of (Chancellor) Séguier, Advocate General at the Parliament and member of the Academy; a very fine engraving in the centre of the covers, with a gilt-plate title label in the Dubuisson style.
With a very fine gold-embossed paper featuring fruit motifs. A fine copy.
