In-12, (3) leaves, XXIV-222 pp., (1) leaf, title in red and black. Contemporary fawn calfskin, ribbed spine, salmon-coloured title label, decorated panels, fillet, dotted border and angular fleurons on the covers, all blind-stamped, gilt roulette with chased patterns, speckled edges, repairs to the corners (small stains on the upper cover, very slight rubbing on the edges and corners, a few very small foxing spots).

A fine early edition of Erasmus’s text. A new edition of Gueudeville’s famous translation, illustrated with a frontispiece and 15 plates drawn by Eisen and etched in black
