Half-havana morocco with modern corners, smooth spine decorated lengthwise with a geometric pattern, title, author and volume number gilded, date stamped at the bottom, gilded fillet on the covers, gilded head, cover and spine preserved [P. Affolter] (spine very slightly faded). Illustrated with a frontispiece after Latour, 6 plates by Edmond Hédouin engraved by himself and Toussaint, and 12 compositions by Lalauze in the text. Printed in a small number, this copy on unlined laid paper.

Affolter] (spine slightly darkened, small tear on one corner of the headband, slight foxing on a few pages of vol. 4). Illustrated edition with 16 etched plates, including a frontispiece, by Monziès, after drawings by Paul Avril. Preface by Hippolyte Fournier.
