The decoration "with the flag"
called "with the flag", "with the brass band", or with the trophy", the tradition wants that this war decoration in lace was imagined after the battle of Fontenoy, a village in Belgium where the Marshal of Saxony beat the English and the Austrians on 11 May 1745. In fact, the trophy motif had often been used since the end of the 17th century. Joseph Olerys was the creator of this decoration with trophies.
