I n 1964, sales of the 2CV fell against the competition, particularly the Renault 4. Citroën Director M. Bercot then drew up specifications in order to create a new model to gain market share. It lays down 4 principles: equip the car with a tailgate, limit the fiscal power to 2CV, manufacture at a lower cost by using parts derived from the 2CV and the Ami 6 and finally use the assembly line of the 2CV. Introduced in 1967, the Dyane stands out from the 2CV with its integrated wing lights and tailgate. When it comes out, it is equipped with the 425 cc 2CV twin cylinder. In 1968, the Dyane 6 was offered with a new 602cc engine. More than 1.4 million copies were produced and production stopped in 1983. The car we are presenting is a 1973 Dyane 6. As evidenced by the indicator repeaters on the front fenders, this car was sold new in Italy by the Adriauto dealer in Ancona. The garage sticker is still on the rear window. Coming from a holiday home on the Adriatic coast, this car was only used on rare occasions during the summer season, so that today its meter only displays 1953 km ! Considering the exceptional condition of this car, which could be described as new, this mileage is most certainly original. It features a beautiful cream paint finish combined with a hazelnut-coloured jersey fabric interior with separate seats at the front (period option). On the mechanical level this Dyane works perfectly, the brakes were restored in 2016. Cars in this condition with such low mileage are very rare on the market. A true museum piece, it is certain to seduce lovers of exceptional cars.
