Although initially highly criticized, the 2CV quickly became a desired object and it is not uncommon to wait several years to take possession of it. Stopped in 1990 after 42 years of career, the production of this French automotive myth will rise to more than five million copies and remains today the sixth best-selling French car. The 2 CV Charleston presented in these pages is a two-tone version of grey, released in June 1990. It was sold new by the Citroën Champs de Mars dealership to Mr Dreno, who lives in the 14th arrondissement of Paris. As soon as it is purchased, it is treated with Dinitrol for corrosion protection. He keeps it carefully by regularly having the car serviced, as attested by his maintenance logbook, knowing that the famous little Citroën was soon to leave. Indeed, a few months later, in July, the sentence falls and the last 2 CV leaves the chains. It was bought by an antique car dealer and discovered by the current collector last year. Preserved as a relic of a bygone era, it is still in a new and perfectly functional condition today. During our test, the first surprise was to notice the smell of new from the upholstery! The mechanics run perfectly and there is no play in the undercarriages. This is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the last Charleston manufactured with a certified original mileage of 3600 km.
