Abrilliant concept, the Citroën 2 CV is a simple and robust car that requires little maintenance. Its origin dates back to the 1930s when Pierre Jules Boulanger, the brand’s engineer, launched a POS project: Toute Petite Voiture. He is assisted by the genius draughtsman Flaminio Bertoni and André Lefèvre. The Second World War stopped the project and development did not resume until 1946, on the Ferté Vidame track. The rest we all know it, and after 42 years of career, it is one of the most famous cars in the world. The story of this 2CV is a fairy tale. It all starts with an ad in the famous newspaper La Vie de L’Auto dated January 1998 where it says: «For sale 2cv. Last model, new 0 km, make an offer «The current owner then contacts the seller and after a few minutes of conversation, the latter asks him what colour he wants his car in? The question is surprising and he will admit to owning different models of 2 new CVs. So he owns 15 small Citroëns in new condition! The reason is simple: This one, a great fan of vintage cars, bought all his 2 hp when he learned that Citroën was going to stop production. There are 15 of them because that’s how many grandchildren he is lucky enough to have in his family! All cars were started once a year with an external battery and the cars had never received license plates!
