The stamp Jacob Frères rue Meslée was used by François-Honoré-Georges and

Georges II Jacob between 1796 and 1803.

Illustrious representatives of the Consulate and Empire style, the Jacob brothers were precursors in the field of furniture. With the help of ornamentalists such as Percier and Fontaine, Krafft and Ransonnette, they created a style that met the political requirements of the new regime by referring to antique models adapted to contemporary needs. Their production is composed of powerful, elegant and rigorous lines and an iconographic repertoire drawn from antiquity.
