‘Nor have we said anything about Mr Emile Boggio, who has the privilege of exhibiting seventy-two paintings in a ground-floor room: views of Paris and the Seine, and above all seascapes, reminiscent of the little port of Nervi. Mr Emile Boggio is an Impressionist whose technique is closer to that of Henri Martin than to Claude Monet; and he has a personal temperament. His vision is subtle; he has a very accurate, very vivid sense of the interplay between sky and water, and of the movement of the waves; he excels at rendering an effect in its fullness; his painting affords the eye the pleasure of a vibration captured from nature. ’
