Branches decorated with line engraving, almond-shaped crossguard.
Curved, teardrop-shaped quillon.
Oval pommel with a long tail, wooden tang covered with filigree leather.
Blade marked on the back ‘KLINGENTHAL’, curved with hollow edges and a counter-cut edge, engraved one-third of the way up with ‘??? DE LA GARDE NATIONALE’ using acid etching (remnants).
Steel scabbard with two brass bands.
