Wool velvet on a cotton backing. A black field decorated with fine, crenellated branches in golden yellow twists, ending in stylised crab claws and cornucopias, framing a large central round medallion with polychrome floral wreaths, surrounded by two sky-blue floral panels encircled by symmetrical laurel wreaths. Rolled border creating a frame effect. Four beige spandrels with bouquets of flowers and finely drawn foliage.
In the style of 17th-century carpets (from the gallery of the Louvre Palace), a design inspired by the cartoons of Charles Le Brun under Louis XIV.
