Chiselled brass mount with acanthus leaf decoration.
Long-tailed pommel, missing joint ring, and crossguard retaining the two fixing holes for the Emperor’s profile.
Straight quillon with a button.
Wooden tang covered with alternating double copper filigree. Solingen-made blade, curved, with a fuller and a back edge.
Engraved and gilded halfway up.
Inscribed on both sides with ‘GARDE IMPERIALE’; ‘IMPERIALE’ has been erased on one side.
Leather scabbard with two brass fittings.
France, First Empire period.
