In chiselled and gilded bronze, the oval-shaped case is adorned with vestal virgins pouring water and flanked by fountain heads. The spindle-shaped base is decorated with water deities on sea horses. The white enamelled dial displays the hours in Roman numerals and the quarter-hours in Arabic numerals. The base has claw feet. Suspended by a wire.
