


Made of brass. The openwork dial is richly engraved with foliage and features an eight-point compass rose, with north indicated by a fleur-de-lis. Signed along the scale: ‘Langlois à Paris, aux Galleries du Louvre’.
Claude Langlois (1703–1756), first half of the 18th century.

In its original case, shaped to fit the compass, with remnants of small fleur-de-lis-shaped metal fittings.
