Officer’s sabre of the Vincennes Chasseurs.
Chiselled brass mountings.
Oval pommel with a long tail, decorated with lines and a laurel wreath.
The pommel arch is pierced to allow the pass-through of the sword strap, from which two branches extend to form a shell-shaped decoration featuring a laurel wreath against a background of four pennants and stars. Curved
quillon decorated with a star motif.
Horn pommel, filigree missing.
Curved blade with hollow sides and fuller by Escoffier in Lyon.
Leather scabbard with two straps and a butt plate (damage).
France, Second Empire period.
Total length: 91.5 cm.
