MAJOR CUT 

In chiselled and gilded bronze. The body, featuring lion’s heads, is encircled by a frieze of fruit and foliage in scrollwork, and flanked by two handles bearing sphinx busts. The pedestal is decorated with acanthus leaves and a garland of pearls, festooned with medallions.
Set on an octagonal base in cherry marble.
Late 19th century.
