The central case, crowned by a seated putto, is decorated with drapery and vine tendrils. It houses the white-enamelled dial, displaying the hours in Roman numerals and the quarter-hours and minutes in Arabic numerals. The movement is suspended by a wire. The double-stepped base in cherry marble is decorated with applied scenes of playful putti and rosettes. On flattened feet.
