High-quality silky wool velvet on a cotton backing.
A ruby-red field decorated with scrollwork of fine, crenellated stems ending in palmette motifs of flowers and foliage, finely rendered in polychrome, arranged in twists and turns to frame a large central multi-lobed rosette set within a floral wreath in navy blue, antique gold, ivory and old rose. Four spandrels with motifs echoing the central medallion. Main border in midnight blue, decorated with interlacing floral bulbs encircled by fine branches with very precisely rendered foliage.
Density of approximately 7,000 knots per square decimetre.
