EXCEPTIONAL, IMPORTANT AND EXTREMELY FINE SILK GHOUM

Silk velvet on a silk backing (silk velvet, warp, weft and fringes). An ivory field featuring an original mosaic design of finely rendered flowers and foliage in ruby, almond green and old rose, arranged in the form of stylised diamonds framing a large central floral medallion in salmon pink and celadon, adorned with floral wreaths. Four spandrels with pale green ground decoration featuring baskets of flowers and stylised foliage in polychrome. Main border in salmon pink with a design of rows of palmettes and multicoloured floral bulbs surrounded by symmetrical polychrome torches.
Density: approx. 10/11,000 knots per dm².
