Light cavalry sabre, Model 1822-82.

Chiselled bronze and horn mount.
Oval-shaped crown decorated with a wreath of olive branches.
Horn barrel, filigree missing.
Guard with two branches on a curved joint (deformed).
Curved blade with hollow sides and a fuller, made in Châtellerault and dated 1878.
Scabbard bearing the same number, made of iron with a single strap (orange peel finish).
France, mid-19th century.
