A circular miniature portrait on ivory. The officer is depicted standing, in a half-length portrait, in uniform (probably a mounted artilleryman of the Guard), his left hand resting on his sabre and his right hand in his waistcoat. He wears a bicorne hat with a red plume and a tricolour cockade beneath a gold braid. In the background, a landscape of rocky outcrops, vegetation and a cloudy sky. Trace of a signature in the lower right-hand corner: Triguet?
