 in chiselled bronze gilded with mercury, featuring in the upper section a female figure seated on cushions and crowning a pair of birds. The lower section, shaped like an altar, is decorated with friezes of applied plant motifs on the front and fountain spouts on the sides. The enamelled dial, displaying the hours in Roman numerals and the quarter-hours in Arabic numerals, is signed ‘Gaston Jolly, Paris’. Suspension movement.
The rectangular base is decorated with a scene of openwork putti and rosettes, resting on spindle-shaped feet.
First third of the 19th century.
