- The Mouton-Duvernet family until 1911.
- Collection of Roger de Montégudet (1880–1925), acquired by him from a great-grandnephew of General Mouton-Duvernet named Vallat on 17 October 1911.
- Passed down through the family to the present day.
Our miniature was acquired by the collector Roger de Montégudet at the same time as General Mouton-Duvernet’s sabre, which we had sold on 22 May 2025, lot 60, directly from a great-great-nephew of the general, as attested by a handwritten document dated 17 October 1911 drawn up by the said nephew, which we found in the Montégudet archives.
This previously unpublished miniature is a valuable discovery for the iconography of Mouton-Duvernet.
