


A rare pendant depicting a butterfly, crafted in 18-carat yellow gold and set with old-cut diamonds against a two-tone blue openwork enamel background.
The lower section is hinged.

One of the most important Parisian jewellery houses, second only to Lalique. Founded in 1821 by Pierre Vever in Metz, it moved to Paris in 1871. From 1881 onwards, the grandsons, Pierre, Paul and Henri, took over the management of the business. During the 1880s and 1890s, they exhibited in Paris, Moscow, Chicago and Brussels and were awarded the Grand Prix at the 1900 Paris World’s Fair.
