AFTER ANTOINE-LOUIS BARYE (1795 - 1875)
Lion with snake n°2. Signed on the front "Barye" and on the back in cursive with the publisher's mark "Dt Delesalle".
Contemporary reduction casting during the artist's lifetime.
Height: 16 cm - Width 20.5 cm
Depth: 10.2 cm
(Homogeneous wear)
From 1862 to 1874, Delesalle was one of Barye's depositary founders.
In this capacity, he held the rights to several of Barye's bronzes, including the one presented here, which is the only known example of this model produced by him. In this respect, our extremely rare bronze is a precious find.
