TWO LETTERS OF NOMINATION OF CHEVALIERS OF THE ROYAL AND LILITARY ORDER OF SAINT-LOUIS one in favor of Pierre Mathivet (1771 - 1851) then infantry colonel, and the other in favor of his half-brother François
Mathivet (1786 - 1875), then captain in the VIe régiment d'infanrterie légère. On parchment with seals.

Pierre Mathivet (1771 - 1851), chevalier de l'Empire, who had distinguished himself in the Italian and Spanish wars, became an infantry general and obtained the honorary rank of retired marshal de camp| his half-brother François (1786 - 1875) ended his military career as a captain. Both were great-great-uncles of collector Roger de Montégudet (1880 - 1925), who inherited these documents.
