SECOND-EMPIRE BRIGADE GENERAL'S Sword Gilt bronze mounting.
The pommel features a monogrammed imperial eagle, a chased guard limb decorated with lightning bolts and a straight quillon. The keyboard, enriched with the two stars corresponding to the said rank, is decorated with an imperial eagle flanked by flags, and a folding inner shell with piston. Spindle in filigree horn.
Straight, diamond-shaped blade.
Leather scabbard with two gilded brass fittings, accidents.
France, Second Empire period.
