SABRE D'OFFICIER DU IER RÉGIMENT DE HUSSARD, GARDE À L'ALLEMANDE Chased brass, gilt and ebony mount.
German-style pommel, the top of which is adorned with a finely chased piece decorated with a trophy of arms. Right-angled joint at the hilt, baguette-shaped cruciform decorated with a flower in the center.
Straight quillon. Striated ebony spindle, with rosette (one missing).
Curved blade with hollow sides, engraved in gold and blued in thirds with a charging hussar and the words "Premier REGT d'hussards". Gilded cap and bolt, iron stinger. On both sides of the scabbard, the two bracelets and the clevis are enriched with chasing on a bitter background with dots, depicting trophies of arms. The whole set is mounted on a wooden core covered with chagrin with "zipper" stitching.
Dried leathers making it difficult to remove the sword. A few cracks to the leather.
