REVOLUTIONARY CAVALRY OFFICER'S PAREMENT SABRE Gilt brass mount with pearl string frieze on cap tail and hilt.
Long-tailed helmet cap with empanaché, joined to the guard. Chased joint arch with floral decoration. Chased half almond crosspiece with foliate decoration and slightly curved scrolled quillon. Pala-type blade with carp tongue and counter-edge.
Chased damascus steel with gold inlay, floral motif and lictor beam.
Wood-cored scabbard covered with blackened leather. It is adorned with three embossed and gilded brass fittings. Three finely chased medallions depict the allegories of the nation, liberty and the republic.
Two suspension rings, one broken but present. Dried leathers making the saber difficult to pull out.
