Gilded brass mounting with two main guard arms joined by an openwork plate decorated with a naval anchor and interlacing.
Scalloped counterplate.
Curved quillon and finely chased cap decorated with a palmette and scallop shell.
scallop shell. Horn spindle, watermark missing. Slightly curved snap and counter-slash blade by Couleaux frères in Klingenthal.
Leather strap with three gilded brass fittings. Chappe decorated with a naval anchor, missing the bolt.
France, mid-19th century.
