Hair-striped barrels marked "Boutet Directeur Artiste", thunder hallmarks. Checkered walnut stocks, all with iron fittings.
Oval caps marked "Le Directoire exécutif au citoyen Trawitz".
All guilloche screws. A few cracks in the wood, one hammer screw is missing, part of a front sight is missing.
Good mechanics.

FRÉDERIC-LOUIS TRAWITZ (1771 - 1817)
Captain in the 89th demi-brigade, then aide-de-camp to General Henri Schauenburg commanding the French army in Switzerland. Trawitz was commissioned by Schauenburg to present to the Directoire the flags he had conquered from the Swiss cantons, and was promoted to battalion commander on Prairial 13, Year VI.
