Gilt bronze and stingray mounting.
Oval cap decorated with a medium-sized tail. A faceted knob at the top of the cap articulates an iron hook for passing the lanyard through. Panelled jointing bow, half oreillon cruise on which is inscribed "Le ministre de la guerre a la 3e Comp' de la 19e ½ brige", on the reverse "MANUFACTURE A VERSAILLES" Boutet hallmark and "LD" "AB", unidentified, attributed to Lamogère. Wooden spindle covered with shagreen and copper filigree.
Curved, flat-backed blade, chased, gilded and blued in one-third period.
Signed "Klingenthal" on the back.
Model scabbard with two gilded and cut brass fittings, probably reported.
