1st CUIRASSIER OFFICER'S CLOTH First Empire. In blue and scarlet cloth.
Front with eight buttonholes and large buttons. Scarlet cloth collar with three clasps. Epaulet straps in silver passementerie. Short stockings, probably re-cut circa 1812.
Scarlet interior and reverse. They are adorned with two grenades in gold passementerie (faded).
Scarlet sleeve facings with three small-module buttons. False pockets with scarlet piping and three large-module buttons. Canvas interior, marked "CH MICHEL Tours" by the costume designer. A large proportion of uniforms from this period found their salvation in surviving theatrical costumers.
- Number 1 buttons.
- Small module buttons in silver leaf mounted on bone.
- Large solid silver buttons. According to tradition, the large silver module could be used as a campaign coin. Captain's epaulets. In silver thread and trimmings and small silver bangs.
