Reference 6305 1 occupies a special place in Rolex history: it was in fact this model that Hans Wilsdorf, founder of Rolex, chose to offer to German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer, an important figure in the Franco-German reconciliation with General de Gaulle and a great builder of Franco-German friendship. It was auctioned at Sotheby's in Geneva in November 2011 by his descendants, and was accompanied by a letter signed by Hans Wilsdorf, dated September 16, 1955.
