Mai Trung Thứ exhibited Rêverie in 1942 in Algiers, thanks to the Parisian gallery owner André Romanet, whom he had met in 1941 at an exhibition of his work given in Vichy by Galerie Lorenceau.
Romanet decided to present the work of Mai Trung Thứ and that of his comrade Lê Phổ at the Galerie d'Art Pasteur in Algiers, then in Oran. He makes arrangements with the General Governorship to facilitate the organization of this exhibition.
It is a great honor to bring together today on our walls, La lettre by Lê Phổ and Rêverie by Mai Trung Thứ, more than 80 years after their first joint presentation on the walls of the gallery in Algiers.
Mai Trung Thứ trưng bày tác phẩm "Rêverie" (Mơ mộng) vào năm 1942 tại Alger, nhờ vào sự hỗ trợ của ông chủ phòng tranh André Romanet mà ông đã có dịp gặp gỡ vào năm 1941, tại một triển lãm cá nhân được tổ chức ở Vichy bởi phòng
