Nicknamed "the decorator of billionaires", Paul Dupré-Lafon established himself as one of the major figures of Art Deco. A brilliant architect and decorator, he was born in Marseille in 1900. After graduating from the École des Beaux-Arts in 1923, Paul Dupré-Lafon became one of Paris's most prominent interior designers in 1929, after designing all the furniture for a private mansion near the Parc Monceau.
In the 1930s, he began collaborating with Hermès, for whom he designed a number of office accessories with elegant lines and a contemporary style. It was really in the 1950s/1960s that he produced his most remarkable pieces. All the objects produced during this period are now among the most sought-after by collectors.
