Nash-Healey Le Mans Coupé – 1953

French registration title

Our story begins on the deck of the RMS Queen Elizabeth, the legendary British ocean liner: Donald Healey, a British pilot
and industrial genius, meets by chance the director of Nash-Kelvinator (later to become AMC). The discussion turned to cars,
unsurprisingly, and to Donald Healey’s idea of building a sports car, ideally powered by an American engine.
This was to happen a few years later, with the Nash-Healey Le Mans, based on the chassis of the Healey Silverstone and
a Nash-origin engine, gearbox and axle (with a few Healey modifications: aluminium cylinder head, SU carburettors, front
suspension, etc.). Crucially, the bodywork is by Pinin Farina!
Our car was sold new by the Nash dealer in West Pa. in the United States, with the rare spoked wheels and Pinin Farina door
handles. It remained in the same family for 50 years, and at the end of that half-century underwent a major restoration before being sold to a Californian collector.
This time, it only stayed with the family for a year, before heading off to Germany to a collector who had an impressive restoration carried out between 2004 and 2010, at a cost of over €120,000!
In 2012, a Belgian collector bought the car, and again carried out some work (including an engine rebuild), this time at LMB Racing.
The current owner added the car to his collection in 2021, but only drove it a few kilometres, preferring to admire its sumptuous bodywork! The car was recently serviced by Atelier 46.
With just under 200 examples produced, this 6-cylinder Anglo- American is one of the most exclusive cars we have ever presented.
Now with a very attractive valuation, it’s a rare opportunity for a connoisseur looking to drive something elegant and different!
