Jaguar Type E Série 2 Coupé – 1970
French registration title
The Jaguar E-Type was launched in 1961 with the Series 1, elevated to iconic status for its revolutionary design and exceptional performance! It was an immediate success, particularly in the United States, and in 1968 a Series 2 was introduced to meet the demands of that market. Changes were made to the headlamps, cooling system and powertrain to comply with the new safety and pollution standards.
Our example was delivered new on 20 February 1970 to Donald Carson in Sunnyvale, California, as the copy of its warranty
booklet attests. It was in 1991 that the car was first registered in France, in Dieppe to be precise, before joining the current
owner’s collection in 1998.
Today, the car is still in good condition: the bodywork, probably repainted just before purchase, is still beautiful, and the upholstery has an interesting patina. In 2022, the corroded floors were replaced by the specialists at Espace Century. The car is also running very satisfactorily, thanks to the meticulous and regular maintenance that its owner has provided since its purchase (all of which is documented in the file, available on request). In recent years, major work has been carried out on the clutch system, brakes, exhaust and carburettor.
Here’s your chance to add a Type E Coupé to your collection in very good condition, both in terms of operation and presentation, for a fraction of the price of the Series 1 3.8 versions!
