MÄNNLEINLEUCHTER
KNOWN AS "MÄNNLEINLEUCHTER
in polished copper alloy, depicting
standing court jester, wearing a chiseled beard and
beard and moustache,
his right hand raised, holding the binet (no longer extant)
and his left hand held at his side on his waist. Decor
of flower buds and ocelli friezes.
He stands on a triangular, tripod base
with stylized feet.

This type of candlestick is known as a männleinleuchter
(literally "man-shaped candlestick
candlestick") is emblematic of 15th-century
of 15th-century German production.

The Museum Angewandte Kunst in Frankfurt
preserves a very similar candlestick that could well
could very well be the counterpart of ours, with an almost
almost identical, but in a different attitude
