Painting depicting "Bole judging a horse".
In ink and color on silk, Bole is shown seated under a tree, accompanied by attendants and servants, while in the foreground, a horse is surrounded by three grooms.
The painting is signed "Zi'Ang", with a seal and dated the third of the second month of year III of the Dade era [1299] on the upper left. The mounting with eight apocryphal colophons from Ming dynasty
Ming dynasty. Framed under glass at a later date.

NOTE
Bole, whose real name was Sun Yang, was a renowned horse trainer of the Spring and Autumn period (771-256 BC). He takes his honorific name from a constellation presiding over the destinies of celestial horses. His great understanding of horses by their simple physiognomy has traditionally made him a discoverer of hidden talents.
