Narcisse Berchère (1819-1891), 'Crépuscule (Nubie inférieure)', oil on canvas, signed lower right, 98 x 142 cm, in. Salon, Paris, Palais des Champs-Elysées, 1864, no. 143, acquired by the French State in 1864, placed in the Musée du Luxembourg, transferred to the Musée du Louvre in 1895 and deposited in the Musée de la Chartreuse de Douai on March 27, 1896. The painting is presumed destroyed by the bombing of August 11, 1944, and is on the list of war damage.
