PASTEUR Louis (1822 - 1895) L.A.S., circa 1865-1866, to Eugène MAILLOT| 1 page small in-12 (pastedown, paper yellowed).
[In 1865, Pasteur, at the request of the government, is going to work on the disease affecting silkworm farms, a mission for which he is collaborating with his fellow biologist and sericulture specialist at the Montpellier School of Agriculture, Eugène Maillot].
Tisserand has just informed him that he had consulted the director of the École d'Agriculture "to find out whether, for the dossier, there was no obstacle to granting us the requested mission"| he is awaiting a reply. In a postscript, Pasteur asked Maillot about silkworms: "Have you been successful? What do they say about education? Are they complete in the Var or elsewhere?"
