Large volume in-8, lemon morocco, spine with 5 raised bands decorated with gilded stippling, author, title, place and date gilded, boxes edged with gilded fillets and angular fleurons, boards framed with a triple fillet, and decorated with a frame of another double-fillet with angular fleurons, all gilded, double gilded fillet at the edges, interior lace, cover and spine preserved, gilded edges on witnesses, case [Canape] (spine a little browned).
Edition illustrated by Pierre-Georges Jeanniot with 60 woodcuts in the text and 10 hors-texte etchings, including a frontispiece portrait of the author.
Limited edition of 300 numbered copies: one of the top 12 on japon (n°9) including a quadruple suite of etchings.
