Champs] (slight rubbing to corners, very rare russeting).
First printing of this edition illustrated with 8 color plates of flowers under captioned serpents, and vignettes in the text, after Gavarni, Daubigny, Meissonier, Catenacci, Freeman, Marvy, and Steinheil.
Copy enriched with 10 etchings by Marvy after Diaz, some printed on Chine, 2 vignettes after Michel engraved by Le Rat and Lalauze, and various wood-engraved and steel-engraved vignettes, for a total of 16 pieces offering views of gardens and landscapes.
