New translation. Paris, H. Fournier aîné, 1840. In-8, olive-green calf, smooth spine decorated with gilt fillets and irons, eggplant calf title-piece, boards edged with a scroll and fillet and decorated with a large rocaille plaque with birds, all gilt, double gilt fillet at the edges, triple gilt fillet at the counterplated edges, gilt edges [Simer] (spine faded, corners a little rubbed, some freckling).
First printing of this edition illustrated with woodcuts after Grandville.
Elegant binding by Simier, the King's bookbinder.
