Large in-4, [4] f., 167 p., pl., contemporary raciné calf, ornate smooth spine, red title page, boards framed with 2 gilt roulettes and fillet, double gilt fillet at the edges, interior roulette, gilt edges (2 corners dulled| small angular wetness in margin of 2 pl.).
A very fine edition of 300 copies, illustrated with 4 engraved plates printed in color after compositions by the painter Nicolas-André Monsiau (1754-1837). According to Cohen, the engravings are by Clément, whose name appears only on the first plate of our copy, the second is signed "L. f.", and the last two unsigned.
Text on wove paper, plates on heavy wove paper.
