First performed by the Comédiens français ordinaires du Roi on Tuesday, April 27, 1784. [Kehl], de l'Imprimerie de la Société Littéraire-Typographique, et se trouve à Paris, chez Ruault, 1785. Large in-8, LI-199 p., [1] f. (errata), pl., long-grained navy-blue morocco, 5-rib spine decorated with gilt stippling, author, title, place and date gilt, richly decorated boxes with fleurons, stippling gilt and mosaic medallion, boards edged with a geometrical frame composed of a roulette, 2 scrolls and 2 fillets, and another fine roulette, all gilt, with mosaic dots on the spandrels, gilt roulette on the necks and headpieces, morocco-edged spandrels decorated with 5 gilt fillets, pink moiré satin lining and endpapers edged with a fillet of a frieze of sphinxes and chimeras in fleurons, all gilt, second marbled paper endpaper, gilt edges on witnesses, case [Noulhac] (slight rubbing to case). rubbing to slipcase| russeting on some plates and p. 39).
Copy printed on large ecru wove paper. It contains the plates of the 2 suites mentioned by Cohen, the first printed on heavy laid paper, the second on wove paper.
