Divided into fifteen books. By Monsieur de V***. Louvain, s.n., 1755. In-8, [2] f. (title, preface), 161 p., [1] blank, navy blue morocco, 5-rib spine decorated with gilt stippling, gilt title and date, small-ink ornamented caissons with fleurons and double fillet edging, all gilt, boards bordered with double fillet and decorated with wide iron lace, all gilt, double gilt fillet at edges, inner lace, gilt head, untrimmed [Marius Michel] (corners very slightly rubbed).
First edition of which there are two possible candidates, this one designated by Bengesco as "edition A".
A very fine washed copy, (a few small marginal notes discernible on p.85, 103, 143), elegantly restored and established by Marius Michel.

Maurice Cohen, engineer who died in Cahors in 1883, his collection sold in 1884 (engraved bookplate).
