MÉNESTRIER (Claude-François) Histoire du règne de Louis le Grand par les médailles, emblèmes, devises, jettons, inscriptions, armoiries et autres monumens publics.
Recueillis, et expliquez... À Paris, chez R. Pepie, J. Le Fevre, J.B. Nolin, 1693. In-folio, [2] f. (engraved title and dedication), 80 p., [4] f. (avert., table), pl., contemporary brown calf, 6-ribbed spine, 2 title-pieces, ornate caissons, speckled edges (binding rubbed, flaws in the boards, headpieces torn off| the fold-out plate is short-margined at the foot and worn at the edges, a few freckles).
Second and last edition, corrected and enlarged. The work consists of an engraved title, a portrait of the author engraved by Nolin after P. Simon and dated 1688, an engraved dedication leaf, a frontispiece entitled "L'Histoire du règne de Louis le Grand", unsigned, 80 p. of text, 2 engraved vignettes and a cul-de-lampe at the head of the introduction and text, and more than 80 engravings throughout the text and hors-texte.
The plates in the first part are numbered by page, and all the illustrations are numbered as follows: pl..
